The Whistleblower Act entered into force on 1 January 2023, requiring private and public sector organisations with 50 or more employees to establish an internal whistleblowing channel.<\/p>\n

The act on whistleblower protection implements a European Union directive that strengthens the protection of whistleblowers, known as the Whistleblower or Whistleblowing Directive. It aims to ensure that people who discover or suspect misconduct in their work can report it safely.<\/p>\n

Organisations must specify the persons involved in the handling process, and the process must also be described in detail.
