They decided to found a company alongside their day jobs. The first goal was clear and well-defined: to provide Human Factors training to high-risk industries. Demand was strong and customers were happy, so the decision was made to expand operations.<\/p>\n
Over time, the idea of a safety-focused information system took shape. The first version of the Rego software was released in March 2016. The Qreform of today had been born.<\/p>\n
Qreform has now evolved into a strong and versatile provider of safety, quality and competence management solutions.<\/p>\n
The early years: aviation, maritime, rail, oil refining and healthcare<\/h2>\n
In the early stages of its operations, even before the current form of business was launched, Qreform focused on providing training to aviation-sector operators and training organisations. Gradually, operations expanded to personnel training in other safety-critical industries, such as healthcare, rail transport and maritime. Alongside training, consulting projects also began to emerge \u2013 the most significant of which was a guidebook on bridge cooperation produced for the Finnish Maritime Administration.<\/p>\n
Around the turn of the 2010s, a new phase began when digital safety competence solutions started to be developed alongside the training and consulting services. Following the publication of Finland’s first patient safety strategy in 2009, the \u2018Patient Safety e-learning\u2019 project was launched. Qreform was selected as a partner to deliver an online training package for all healthcare and social welfare employees across Finland. By 2026, more than 200,000 healthcare and social welfare professionals in Finland had completed the training, and its still plays a major role in the sector’s training requirements.<\/p>\n
Another project that significantly shaped the company’s future was launched in 2015, when Neste Oy selected Qreform to develop a safety competence verification solution for its refinery workers. The project gave rise to the L2O (License to Operate) system, still in use at Neste’s refineries, used to ensure sufficient competence on every shift for safe refinery line operation. The development of the L2O system simultaneously laid the foundation for the Rego HSEQ and Laatuportti systems.<\/p>\n
A comprehensive solution for safety, quality and competence management is born<\/h2>\n
Through the projects of the early years, the idea developed that the platform designed for training and competence verification could be expanded into a comprehensive safety management system. The differentiating factor from competitors would be that the software was intended as a tool for all employees<\/strong> \u2013 not just a limited group of safety specialists within organisations. In addition, it was designed to offer tools for developing quality, safety and competence management, not merely for collecting and processing data for audits or safety reports.<\/p>\nThe slogan \u2018Reforming Safety and Quality Thinking\u2019, adopted in 2015, links to the same vision. Since human factors were known to play a significant role in incidents and accidents, the aim was to bring about a change in mindset \u2013 first and foremost in safety-critical industries.<\/p>\n
Another significant milestone in the story of the current Qreform was the 2017 merger with Gravasoft Oy. Gravasoft had already been a partner in software platform development, and through the merger, the company gained more professionals with both business development and technology expertise.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the company entered a new growth phase, and the system received its current name, Rego HSEQ. In line with the original vision, the solution began to expand into a comprehensive solution for quality and safety management across different industries and customer groups. Simultaneously, Rego’s sister system Laatuportti was made available to healthcare and social welfare organisations, addressing the specific needs of the sector and using its special terminology.<\/p>\n
Human factors remain at the core<\/h2>\n
Qreform has continued steady annual growth since 2017. The Rego platform is now used by approximately 250 organisations, including several listed companies as well as SMEs investing in safety, quality and competence. Laatuportti, designed for the healthcare and social welfare sector, is in use across almost all of Finland’s wellbeing services counties and among a large proportion of private service providers.<\/p>\n
The company’s growth would not have been possible without its skilled personnel, and the team has been strengthened by outstanding new qreformers every year. Our staff now brings together an excellent mix of technical expertise, industry knowledge, business vision, sales and marketing skills, and critically important customer support expertise.<\/p>\n
In our work, we follow our shared values: I act with courage, I take responsibility, and I help others succeed. Our remote-first working model allows our employees to work as flexibly as possible, fitting their work around leisure \u2013 not the other way around.<\/p>\n
